Photographs turn into stories when a photographer’s memories and the way he/she expresses asubject come across “the moment†.Sometimes photographs give audiences the opportunity of forming their own stories. The value of an art piece can also be measured whether or not it has this feature.
In this work called “Railway Stories†, photographerÂSerkant Hekimci shares his stories about the trains, railways and stations that he has been collecting since his childhood. Trains, stations, rails and the people turn into a story on Hekimci’s view finder.
Serkant Hekimci made a pre-study about theÂplaces and the views when he reflected these photographic stories into a living project. He specifically worked in winter because of theopportunities of light. For the reason that this work contains pre-study as well as coincidence,it has also cinematographic qualities.
